Also, if you keep output / input numbers consistent, you have now feedback paths for the 'diagonal' VCAs B2, C3, D4 which is handy because it is easily visible (Output 1 is of course the final mixer, so no feedback on A1). That way you obviously end up with four parallel tracks of the same source signal. These then go back to the respective inputs B, C and D of the matrix. Then I use the multiple outs to route the signal to modules, say 2 to MMF1, 3 to SPH2, 4 to A199 + A124. Output 1 is going to the audio interface / mixer / monitors / what have you. My modular is for processing, so imagine a sustaining synth, maybe a chord from the A6 or a bassnote from the MS20 with relatively high cutoff usually. (Not sure that's what you mean exactly.) What I often do is to put one source into input A. I imagine I'll need a fair bit of extra control aside from just the VCA Matrix to achieve the kind of level of control where you are balancing on the knife edge of control/chaos.Īnyone else doing that? any comments on utility or companion modules which help?
